The Dynamic Duo

Holy haberdashery, Batman! – Robin
I went outside with Lolo and Jemie at about 5:45 to check on the goats and close up the barn. There were a few chickens still outside, so I wrangled them in and did the count. Again, Miss Frannie was… MIA.  I stepped out of the barn to take a peek around the perimeter and noticed that Lolo was missing too. I called to her several times, but no Lolo or Frannie.
By this time, Caroline had come out to help me look for Lolo. Jemie went running down towards the pond, so my attention was drawn in that direction. Caroline and I both spotted  Lolo running down towards the water, and Frannie heading back up the hill away from the water. There were two geese, who have recently made the pond their home, standing on the dock.
Frannie had wet hair and a wet chest, so she had obviously tried going in the water after the geese. Lolo was trying her best to run the geese off from the edge of the pond.  The geese squawked profanities at both of them and jumped in the water, heading out towards the safetyof the middle of the pond.
The dynamic duo saves the day again; the 5 and a half pound Chihuahua and her sidekick chicken who can’t see a damn thing.
We may be small, but we are mighty…

  1. Wow!! I’ve heard of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid, but Lolo and Frannie the chicken takes the cake. Could make a great Saturday morning cartoon duo.
